I made my escapism from Sydney. I was making plans for New York for ATP festival to see one of the greatest line-ups a festival has to offer. Bands like: Suicide, Shellac and The Dirty Three. Unfortunately the festival dates were not in october when the return flights from NY start from $1000. i researched alternatives for days and had no luck. I then knew there was noway i was going to make it for ATP. My good friends from ‘The Scare’ were touring with ‘Children Collide’ for a week to Melbourne and Tasmania. Two places I have never had the opportunity to visit for the past 23 years. I decided to jump on board.
The first show was in Ballerat (which had an all you can eat ‘pizza hut’...Rare!), before the show we filled time with some intense felt ball with William and myself being the superior team. Later in the evening we came across this.
Scare fan had lyrics from 'Cry' tattooed on her foot... ....possibly religious affiliated.
I managed to keep to the darker corners of the venue away from the rough looking lads that did not take kindly to walking in front of them during the show, or after. We left the hotel early to head back to Melbourne to go to the infamous (amongst a certain few) Vibes Hotel. Vibes is known best back in Sydney for its non-guest accessible pool, sauna, gym and towels.
It was a shame the Melbourne show was sold out with all ‘children collide’ fans. These fans ranging from football fans to football players to bogan’s. I am sure i don't need to go into anymore detail. No offence to those who like that kind of thing, all i am saying is that you do create a bad atmosphere.

The next day we flew down to Hobart. It was one of the most beautiful cities I have seen in a very long time. All the buildings were in there close to original condition. Which is a rarity in basically any city in Australia. As soon as i knew that we were going to be in Tasmania i wanted to take the opportunity to make a trip to Port Authur, home of Australia’s biggest killing spree. One of the lads that worked in the venue gave me a heads up not to go to New Town (Martin Bryant’s home town). I questioned him about it, he said there are more potentially insane people getting around than Martin Bryant in the small town. That’s all I needed to hear really...

We managed to find a new UNO and its name is 'Jenga', whilst hanging out in a venue in Hobart.

We travelled a few hours outside of Hobart to Launceston. This place did not only have an english name, It looked identical to Birmingham, the Industrial Architecture, similar street layout and the weather. It made me miss Birmingham and gave me hope that the same friendly people around town. (besides those who reside in the not as friendly muslim areas)
It was actually more of a ghost town. It actually felt like i stepped into an episode of the 'Twilight Zone'. Whilst the guys were doing sound check i came across a place that looked similar to galaxy world. Naturally i thought would have had some video games to play to kill time. I walked into a room full of skill testers, the only prize inside each machine were a pile of pink teddy bears. I was then greeted by a tiny man with coke bottle glasses and matching tracksuit from the very back of the room. I walked out....

DJ AM is the most recent to fall victim to the celebrity OD batch. Rumors state that he was a major crack head, though what rumors are we meant to believe. Really.... I was taken back by the fact he used to play in that band 'Crazy Town'. The singer looked like a Pokemon covered in tattoos. Actually. They all do.

My Stephen King week has begun. I just finished watching 'IT' which has always been a great film. Though one part in particular that slipped my mind previous times before was when the array of light turns Henry bowers into a splitting image of Eurythmics.

I am currently upto watching 'Maximum Overdrive' (soundtrack by AC/DC and post mighty ducks emilio estevez!) Opening scene is a hit! ATM called a 'Money Man II' calls a guy an asshole then to complain to his wife about it. I tried to find out if there were actual money man cash points existing in the US. Though you know if there was there would be typical tourist photographs everywhere of someone just getting cash out of it and posing for a photograph holding the money up.... yeah
A small note for the 6 lads that tried to pick a fight with me last night. I hope karma rains down upon you hard. Though me saying this wont really make a difference but deep down i already know you will be in gaol by the time you turn 21. You will be feasting on bigger things than a late night kebab at Terrigal. kapeesh.
Our good friends the scare have there album launch next Tuesday the 1st of September at the Helen Rose Gallery in Surry Hills. The last rogue warehouse show The Scare played was out of control. Similar to Tom Hanks in Bachelor Party.
I could not honestly care less about any other band that has broken up ever. (not really) This destroyed me. On the bright side the second project called 'Lovvers' is just as impressive.
On a completely different subject (the subject being ourselves). We have recently just recorded our first Podcast for our past DJ set at the taxi club celebrating the lives of all our favorite deceased artists. I made a large decision last night whilst playing Street Fighter 4 on Playstation 3. I am much more of a mortal kombat fan. Not so much on character basis. The controls really do make a lot more sense.
After the Street Fighter battles followed the devouring 5 pizza's and 2 garlic breads whilst watching 'Pet Sematary'. (classic) After realising the zombified child looks a lot like one of Michael Jackson's sons. I did the whole 'Where are they now' study. The young 'Miko Hughes' aka 'Gage Creed' is now 23. Wrote 2 albums at the age of 9. He also likes to play video games like 'Dance Dance Revolution' DJ's under the name of 'DJ Cubed' and also has his own blog called 'infinity disco'. http://woeismiko.blogspot.com/ AND is a beekeeper. Personally i am impressed. One child star is finally keeping it real and not taking the path of a drug addiction and excessive weight gain.

I remember my first film i saw which John Hughes wrote was 'Uncle buck' starring John Candy and Macaulay Culkin. Although at a young age, i knew comedy genius when i saw it. The classics kept rolling in afterwards whether it be from now era, or then. The next film was 'Home Alone'. It was a whole new peak in comedy. I was obsessed with the film and i had a new god. Kevin McAllister.
The VCR gave me the advantage watch them whenever i liked. memories... I was living in a great year for great movies.

These movies gave birth to some of the most creative characters ever to hit the screen. Fact.
