Motherblog 17 (where art thou...Now?)

-Jaleel White aka 'Steve Urkel'.-

In my early childhood i was really into the 90's sitcom 'Family Matters', mainly for the sheer purpose of hoping that the irritating neighbour 'Steve Urkel' would make an appearance...
The one episode that i favoured was when Larry Johnson teams up with Urkel as 'Grandmama' for a 2 on 2 street ball competition... Anything NBA affiliated at the time was up my ally.

In 2006 Jaleel was a victim of a suicide hoax that had spread stating that he was found dead in his apartment after shooting himself in the head.
It was said next to the body there was a suicide note with nothing more than his famous catch phrase "Did i do that".
I guess the public were a lot more gullible in 2006

My Attempt at being Steve Urkel for the 'class of 94' party at the taxi club. I was told i had created a new character that night. 'Marcauly Curkal'. insert catch phrase here... "i did do that".

Jaleel was also the voice for the popular television animation series after the Sega video game 'Sonic The Hedgehog'

At some time in his career, this actually happened..

Post Family Matters 0.25

Then.......and the now, So long high pants and suspenders. Hello camouflage blazers...

Ending it with a memorable moment. The Urkal Dance.
Yes. I have attempted this..

Motherblog 16 (Redrum)

So we wake in the midst of a dust storm this morning. Accept this audio and visual pun as a...celebration..

It's quiet a surreal moment, though everyone seems to be comparing to armageddon. idiots..

On another note.
Julian Casablancas has released the first track from his solo album. Its everything that i expected.
A hit!

Motherboy's played some of our favourite 90's hip hop tracks on saturday night at the Taxiclub for the Duke Magazine party.
'White Men Can't Crump'.
A preview of the tracks were-

- A Tribe Called Quest - Like it like that

-LL Cool J - Phenomenon

-Public Enemy - Can't do nuttin' for ya man

-Jay-Z - Hard Knock Life

-Blackstreet - No Diggity

-Snoop Dogg - Who Am I (Whats My Name)

-Ice Cube - Check Yo Self (The Message)

To begin and end with a NZ hit. The film clip had one two many high res crutch shots...

Motherblog 15 (Me Myself & Martin Bryant)

I made my escapism from Sydney. I was making plans for New York for ATP festival to see one of the greatest line-ups a festival has to offer. Bands like: Suicide, Shellac and The Dirty Three.
Unfortunately the festival dates were not in october when the return flights from NY start from $1000. i researched alternatives for days and had no luck. I then knew there was noway i was going to make it for ATP.
My good friends from ‘The Scare’ were touring with ‘Children Collide’ for a week to Melbourne and Tasmania. Two places I have never had the opportunity to visit for the past 23 years. I decided to jump on board.

The first show was in Ballerat (which had an all you can eat ‘pizza hut’...Rare!), before the show we filled time with some intense felt ball with William and myself being the superior team.
Later in the evening we came across this.

Scare fan had lyrics from 'Cry' tattooed on her foot...
....possibly religious affiliated.

I managed to keep to the darker corners of the venue away from the rough looking lads that did not take kindly to walking in front of them during the show, or after.
We left the hotel early to head back to Melbourne to go to the infamous (amongst a certain few) Vibes Hotel. Vibes is known best back in Sydney for its non-guest accessible pool, sauna, gym and towels.

It was a shame the Melbourne show was sold out with all ‘children collide’ fans. These fans ranging from football fans to football players to bogan’s. I am sure i don't need to go into anymore detail.
No offence to those who like that kind of thing, all i am saying is that you do create a bad atmosphere.

Thanks to sports programs like 'Friday Night Football'.

The next day we flew down to Hobart. It was one of the most beautiful cities I have seen in a very long time. All the buildings were in there close to original condition. Which is a rarity in basically any city in Australia.
As soon as i knew that we were going to be in Tasmania i wanted to take the opportunity to make a trip to Port Authur, home of Australia’s biggest killing spree. One of the lads that worked in the venue gave me a heads up not to go to New Town (Martin Bryant’s home town). I questioned him about it, he said there are more potentially insane people getting around than Martin Bryant in the small town. That’s all I needed to hear really...

Grunge terror.

We managed to find a new UNO and its name is 'Jenga', whilst hanging out in a venue in Hobart.

Human sail pyramid. stepping the fuck up.

We travelled a few hours outside of Hobart to Launceston. This place did not only have an english name, It looked identical to Birmingham, the Industrial Architecture, similar street layout and the weather. It made me miss Birmingham and gave me hope that the same friendly people around town. (besides those who reside in the not as friendly muslim areas)

It was actually more of a ghost town. It actually felt like i stepped into an episode of the 'Twilight Zone'.
Whilst the guys were doing sound check i came across a place that looked similar to galaxy world.
Naturally i thought would have had some video games to play to kill time. I walked into a room full of skill testers, the only prize inside each machine were a pile of pink teddy bears. I was then greeted by a tiny man with coke bottle glasses and matching tracksuit from the very back of the room.
I walked out....

Launceston.
